Karl Lagerfeld Apologizes After Calling Adele “Too Fat”

Karl Lagerfeld has apologised to Adele after calling the singer ‘too fat’.
The fashion guru has insisted his comments were taken ‘out of context’, adding that he is the singer’s biggest fan.
He told the Metro New York newspaper: ‘I’d like to say to Adele that I am your biggest admirer.
‘Sometimes when you take a sentence out of the article it changes the meaning of the thought. Adele is my favorite singer and I am a great admirer of her.’
Lagerfeld, 78, also said he admired Adele for being so strong in the face of comments regarding her weight.
He added: ‘I lost over 30 kilos over 10 years ago and have kept it off. I know how it feels when the press is mean to you in regards to your appearance.
‘Adele is a beautiful girl. She is the best. And I can’t wait for her next CD.’
In his previous interview, Lagerfeld was quoted as saying that Adele was ‘a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.’
Following the comments, Adele came back fighting, and insisted she’s never aspired to look like the type of women that Lagerfeld sends down his catwalks.
The 23-year-old singer told People magazine: ’I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that.’

Adele also insisted she is not obsessed with her fuller figure or trying to lose weight.
She said last year: ‘I enjoy being me; I always have done. I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, you know, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I just don’t want that in my life.
‘It’s just never been an issue – at least, I’ve never hung out with the sort of horrible people who make it an issue.
‘I have insecurities of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me.’
Adele Adkins, 23, from South London, has become a huge star  in recent years with her two albums 19 and 21 selling more than 23.5 million copies to date.
*Go, Adele. Good point: don’t hang out with horrible people who would make your weight an issue.

NEWSER) – Ananda Marchildon may have been Holland’s Next Top Model, but to her former modeling agency she’s just a “fat ass”: The “almost anorexically skinny” model is suing Elite Model Management after it called her fat, dropped her a year before the end of her three-year contract, and refused to pay $85,000 of the $99,000 she was to receive for winningHolland’s Next Top Model in 2008, reports theTelegraph. Elite allegedly dumped Marchildon because her hips were bigger than their max 35.4 inches, but Marchildon says that’s just her genetics and she was still super-thin. (TheTelegraph notes that the European average is 40.5 inches.)
According to her lawyer, a rep for Elite told Marchildon that “although she has a nice face, she has a fat ass” and that “she never had it in her to become a top model because she was unsuitable for catwalk work.” But Elite says Marchildon simply could not get modeling jobs because of her size: “Couture clothing is made in one size only: (très très) petite. This is not something agencies can change,” says a lawyer. Rosalinde Kikstra, Holland’s Next Top Model’s 2009 winner, is considering joining Marchildon’s suit, reports Dutch News.

My point in sharing this story? Look how sick and twisted the fashion industry is, folks. A thin model is over her ‘max limit’ on hip size?

WE and our children are being taught, brainwashed, forced into thinking and believing that this is okay. That you have to be a certain way. THIS is not healthy.

THESE are NOT compliments.

“You would look so good if you lost some weight.”

“She’s got a pretty face but it’s a shame she’s fat.”

“You’re pretty on the inside.” or “You’re pretty on the inside and that’s all that matters.”

“Atleast you have a good personality.”

Those are NOT compliments.
